A couple of us here at Parkway had the privilege to attend Infocomm 2016 in Las Vegas. For those of you who don’t know, this is the largest audio & video expo around. Manufactures from all over the world put on their best displays of LED panels, touch displays, speakers, and anything else related to the AV field. Here are just a couple of highlights that stuck out to us:
L-Acoustics has introduced the Kiva II, adding +6dB peak SPL over its predecessor. L-Acoustics offered an A B comparison in their listening room and the contrast was remarkable. The new design sounds more clear and open without sacrificing the tonality of L-Acoustics that we have all come to love. Hearing a number of tracks that highlighted different vocals, you would have thought the singers were right in front of you. A detail that many manufactures seem to miss.
We had the chance to hear Martin’s CDD speakers in a 5″, 6″, and 8″ configuration. These speakers are a coaxial design allowing for smooth HF and LF summation. Walking the room, we were blown away with how smooth the response was across the entire coverage of the speaker. They offer passive as well as active models.
The future is here with the technology of touch based presentation tools. Volanti displays has a 10 point touch panel system that will allow you spin, rotate, zoom, and chuck a picture across the display. Using the touch surface, the touch response was snappy and quick. Check out this video!
