Parkway was thrilled to be a part of the construction of the new recreation center remodel on Grand Valley’s campus. The new addition boasts an additional 50,000 square feet, which effectively doubled the existing facility. The addition hosts a new 3 court gymnasium, an indoor hockey arena, 2 new weight rooms, rooms for cardio instruction and equipment, new office spaces, locker rooms storage and a new entrance to the building.
Outfitting the new space with LED fixtures, control panels, occupancy sensors, daylight harvesting and various other power and energy saving features was a 16 month process. Assuring the space was not only aesthetically pleasing but had environmentally friendly features was integral to the process. Parkway was able to utilize state of the art technology to assure Grand Valley would be equipped for years to come.
Keeping the power on in an existing building as a renovation is occurring is always a challenge. Parkway was able to expertly manage this minor disruption and assure power would not be turned off for the existing building for an extended period of time. Parkway was pleased to finish this project ahead of schedule. This project and building were LEED certified.
