Parkway had the pleasure of working with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital to streamline their communications systems. As a large healthcare organization with multiple locations, Mary Free Bed had two challenges on its hands. The first was to connect a mass notification system in 5 different buildings into one centralized system. The second was to zone out the notification system so that the entire hospital wasn’t notified of each alert, but only the zones that needed the alert. The goal was to ensure each patient and visitor’s comfort by eliminating constant announcements, beeps and messages.
Parkway solved both of these issues by installing a mass communication system designed by Innovative Electric Designs (IED) a world leader in paging and mass notification systems. The new system is highly secured and reliable and is easily networked together through multiple areas and buildings. Now, rather than having loud, consistent messages blaring, alerts are more effective and the overall hospital environment is more quiet and peaceful. Additionally, the system was flexible enough to meet new fire code requirements that call for digital messaging to be a part of the emergency alert system.
