Jack H. Miller Center For Arts, Hope College

Job Type: Communications, Power

Client: Education

The new Jack H. Miller center for the performing arts, located on the campus of Hope College, is a 64,000 square foot facility that opened for the 2015/2016 academic year.

This world class facility features two performance venues including a flagship 800-seat concert hall and a smaller 125-seat venue. Additional features include multiple classrooms, studios, rehearsal rooms, and offices.

Competitively bid, Parkway was selected by the general contractor for the combination of electrical and structure wiring systems, along with the AV systems which include concert-quality systems that were installed in the performance venues.

Among the unique challenges of the project were the sound isolation demands in each space. This added to the complexity of the installation, requiring every wall device to be wrapped, which eliminated the transfer of sound between rooms.
