Grand Valley State University
Job Type: Audio/Visual
Client Type: Education
After construction of the Recreation Center addition on its main campus, Grand Valley State University contracted Parkway to install audiovisual equipment throughout the new building. Parkway first wired the entire addition for sound and then organized multiple zones with level and source controls.
Parkway selected Cestron control panels to control building zone volumes, a facility-wide paging system, Internet tuners for music throughout the building, and iPad volume controls. Speakers were installed in the main facility, including nine separate zones for volume, and some of the existing areas in the building were also included in these new zones.
Especially noteworthy was the new spinning studio, where Parkway was asked to install an entire LED wall that cyclists could use to simulate different biking experiences while utilizing the studio. This included installation of a projector and special state-of-the-art LED ceiling lights that change colors with the projection image.
