At Parkway our primary goal is to foster long-term relationships built on hard work and trust. 

Our team of electricians, technicians, engineers, project managers, warehouse staff, operations managers, CAD designers, panel builders, and office staff are dedicated to providing the best service in Michigan.

From design and build to repair and maintenance, we provide comprehensive electrical, communications, controls, and audio visual services.

OUR HISTORY

Parkway started in 1945 when power plant operator Elton Achterhof started wiring local homes and businesses. By 1958, Achterhof had partnered with Casey Oonk, hired eight employees, and was running a thriving business. 

A culture of education and safety has always been a standard for Parkway. From the beginning, Achterhof and Oonk insisted on an educated workforce by having their employees attend classes and seminars. 

Elton once said, "I believe that (customer) service is the most important aspect of any company." That belief and work ethic has paid off. During his leadership and beyond, the Parkway team continues to grow and provide the most comprehensive services in West Michigan with customer satisfaction as a number one focus.

CONTINUED GROWTH

In Michigan and Colorado

2002 - Parkway strengthened its position in the market further by becoming a part of the Huizenga Group. 

2010 - Parkway opened an office in Colorado after completing a large project there.

2010 - ASCOM and Hearing Loop Systems was acquired by Parkway. Creating one of the most experienced, diversified, and largest Michigan-based communications company. 

2019 - Parkway acquired National Systems Installers  on the east side of Michigan.

2020 - Parkway is celebrating 75 years of business.

Today, Parkway enjoys a reputation as one of West Michigan's strongest and most comprehensive power, communication, controls, and audio/visual companies.
