Cascade Fellowship

An Audio Visual Update for Cascade Fellowship

Project Type: House of Worship
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Services: Audio/Visual + Power

Cascade Fellowship had a vision to create an engaging environment with a high emphasis on video production. They contacted Parkway to help them revamp their AV system in their main worship space.

The church has a lower worship space that they use during the same time as the main worship space. The message portion of the service is then simulcast to the lower worship space and so great video and lighting were a must. The lighting system in the upper space was "old and outdated" and it did not give them the flexibility to add color or to highlight areas on the floor.

Parkway came in and designed a light system that included 10 Chauvet R1X moving wash fixtures. We installed five of them above the stage, and five for backlighting. We also replaced eight front Ellipsoidal fixtures with Chauvet 910FC for stage wash and added two high-power Chauvet Rouge R3 Spot moving spots for flexibility. Along with the lighting system, we installed 3 PTZ P200 cameras from Birddog.

Lastly, the audio system needed some love. The old speaker system had very inconsistent coverage and quite low fidelity. We installed a new center point source array from L-Acoustics. Which included a high-power KS21 subwoofer, 2 A10i Focus, 1 A10i Wide, 2 8XT for rear balcony fills, and 4 5XTs for under-balcony and front fills. All powered with L-Acoustics LA4X.

In addition to the speaker system, we implemented a Waves soundgrid system to the existing Digico consoles for the flexibility of sending multichannel audio back and forth to each venue. This also allowed the team to implement Waves plugins to the mix.
