Grand Rapids Home for Veterans

The Grand Rapids Home for Veterans is a long-term care facility that houses Veterans who have served our country. 

The old facility was outdated and did not support the growing need for modern care. The construction of the new facility consists of one common building and four ‘neighborhoods’ that will provide homes for around 130 people. The spaces were designed to support and encourage community.

This project was a multi-year project and had some challenges amid a pandemic and material shortages. We took the opportunity to pre-build assemblies and implemented some time and cost-saving ideas.

Working through the balance of aesthetics and function is always tricky. We needed the building to be warm and inviting to its guests while also adding features to improve quality of life like lift-assisted medical facilities, rehab areas, improved resonation areas, and nurse care. We needed to blend assisted living with the amenities of the home.

Our team is proud and honored to be able to work on this project to provide living spaces for those who gave so much for our freedom.
